Interspecies Behavioral Variability of Medaka Fish Assessed by Comparative Phenomics

Recently, medaka has been used as a model organism in various research fields. However, even though it possesses several advantages over zebrafish, fewer studies were done compared to especially with regard its behavior. Thus, provide more information regarding behavior and demonstrate the behavioral differences between species of medaka, we performance biomarker expression brain four fishes, Oryzias latipes, dancena, woworae, sinensis. We found that each explicitly exhibited different behaviors other, which might be related basal levels biomarkers. Furthermore, by phenomics genomic-based clustering, these fishes further investigated. Here, phenomic-based clustering was based on results, while sequence nd2 gene. As expected, both clusterings showed some resemblances other terms interspecies relationship zebrafish. this similarity not displayed comparisons. Therefore, results suggest re-interpretation prior comparative biology. hope contribute growing database fish phenotypes one foundations for future fish.
